Photos from the day :

Clay mation-7e

7e are making creatures out of plasticine in groups about something that was important to them. Everyone contributes to the idea and they finally choose their final idea.

The creations were clever because they used things like racisim, and to make them more realistic they used alien racism.

As well as that people made clay films about what they were like when they were babies, and what they are like now.

Some other ideas were bunny rabbits, people and trees. They were also making models of things that represents them.

Videos by 7T and 7D

The theme for making the videos was what you wanted to become when your older and if you would achieve their ambition.

There were three questions that they had to answer:

What they want to be?
What they need to know?
How they learn?

One pupil said they found it a bit boring, but others seemed to be enjoying it alot.

Quotes:
"We don't have enough time to make a proper video."

"The videos are fun because we get to be creative."

"I like this because you can see other peoples videos and my own."

Some People were thinking about what they would be able to buy in eleven years time; Rocket powered converse and 3D televisions.

7D were making posters to show what they like about 21st century century technology including the iPhone, Sky+, msn, myspace and facebook. They also thought that Bill gates was the creator of the new technology of this era.

As the lesson progressed, they started discussing what they would like their learning to be in the future. They decided that they would enjoy more school trips and be able to get more involved in lessons, particually practicals in science.

'This is an exciting, educational idea that really enhances your creativity'

'It is quite interesting, but it could be a bit more interesting'

'It teaches us important computer skills, for the future, when computers will play an important role in our life'

'I liked it because you could make your own video with your friends'

'Filming was a new and exciting way of learning, I felt like a movie star!

year 7 e-transromation enrichment (IT)

Every child in year 7 got to make a pivot animation, their task was to make an animation to show how they are 21st century learners. Another class was asked to do an animation about what they know will happen in the future, and what they they think will happen in the future. Most classes overall enjoyed it but there were one or two complaints; such as their instructions were a bit too vague and the main site for material was blocked. Some pupils showed their animations in class.

Quotes:

"It's more practical than a normal day so we're all having a great time."

"Going well at the moment but it's harder than we thought as we need to put more effort than we normally do."

"Good experience, very enjoyable."
